Servings 3 11 oz servings
- 2 Cups Frozen Strawberries
- 100 Grams Frozen Acerola Purée This usually comes in a 100g packet.
- 16 Oz. Plain Almond Milk Yogurt You can use a plain yogurt of your choice.
- 10-20 Cardamom Pods Cracked and seeded
- 2 Tbsp Raw Honey Add more if you need it.
- 1 Pinch Himalayan Pink Sea Salt Or any other salt you like.
- ½ Cup Water
Crack and seed your cardamom pods. You can use already seeded but the flavor will be slightly different.
Add all the other ingredients into a high powered blender with the liquid items first, then the frozen on top.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Check sweetness and add more to taste. You can substitute sweetners to your need. Serve and enjoy.
- This will not be sweet enough for everyone. Feel free to add additional honey, stevia or another sweetener that you like. Also, remove the honey completely to create a vegan version.
- There is a huge difference in both the size and types of cardamom pods available on the market. I have seen them very small and very large. I adjusted the number of pods to reflect that. Start with just a few for your first smoothie as you can always add more later.
- If you can’t find acerola, you can easily swap it for frozen mangos (100g) or approximately 1/2 cup.
- Additional Mix-ins: Mint is a wonderful add in for a burst of freshness. Just a few fresh sprigs. Black pepper is considered a traditional spice to add a completely new flavor. Just grind a little in and blend. Ginger is delicious as well. Add in either fresh ginger or my simple ginger ale syrup.
